Dr. Akers is simply a needle in a haystack. I cannot emphasize enough how phenomenal she is after just one initial tele-health visit. Having gone through all the apps and providers that utilize tele-health, I am blown away. She spent over an hour going through my history, expressed a genuine interest to get to know me as an individual, and overall is just extremely passionate on what she practices as a provider and cares! Within minutes into our appointment, it was without doubt that this would be my last stop. Her personable demeanor, extreme intellect, and ability to emphasize with you, and again, the genuine caring compassion she has … without the rigid presence as most come across, is amazing. Yes, on opposite sides of a screen, but I truly felt as if I were in her own home. Having spent so much time in detail, we were able to begin forming my ever building care plan. When there was issues with the pharmacy, she called the pharmacist herself and rectified the issue. This is paramount as if you have experienced with tele-health prior, can frequently create a barrier to being able to fill certain medications and continue with one provider and establish continuity. This to me is of utmost importance. I would absolutely recommend dr. Akers to anyone, even my own mother. Being in the health care field myself, I am constantly battling to be seen differentiated from a rn & expecting to create the plan myself – she works with you entirely :). Dr. Akers is the unfortunate anomaly these days and I wish more providers were around like her to treat not only my patients, but everyone in need and deserving of the time she spent with me.
